Step 1: The Parents
We have found that the parent’s commitment is the most important part of the program. We strongly believe “if you can’t change a family, you can’t change a child” (Dr. James Farris). With this said we require the parents to commit to a lifestyle change themselves. This requires the parents to workout at the same time as their kids during the program. We believe that your kids will follow your lead first. You do not have to be a member of the fitness location in order to participate in GEN FIT LIFE. Along with working out, parents must attend the nutritional boot camp at the beginning of the program. Parents must commit themselves and their child to the duration of this fun life-changing program.
Step 2: Assessments
The program begins with assessing each participant, this enables us to have a benchmark determining each participants results. Our assessments include measuring body weight, circumference, heart rate, blood pressure, cardiovascular strength and performance tests.
Step 3: Nutrition Boot Camp
The 8-Week Journey begins with a nutritional boot camp for the entire family. Other nutritional classes are offered to the parents throughout the coming weeks. We go over cleaning out the kitchen, understanding calories, eating less and moving more, food labels, portion control, meal plans, and a trip to the grocery store to learn how to shop for the right kinds of food.
Step 4: Training
Your kids workout with our trainers in a group atmosphere three times per week. These classes are fun and creative, focusing on creating cardiovascular endurance as well as resistance training. The certified trainers running this program are phenomenal and love an opportunity to help train young people – it is for many of them their favorite part of their job. Each week has a different focus. Days and times of each class are on their syllabus and available when your child is accepted into the program.
Step 5: Results
We believe results are felt on several different levels. We hope to see that these kids drastically improve their initial physical assessments, gain confidence, and are educated on how to continue a healthy lifestyle – creating a future fit nation!
